Empowering Local Food Producers: Join the KIRAG Food Business Launch Series
KIRAG is proud to announce the Food Business Launch Series, an expert-led workshop initiative designed to help local farmers, agricultural producers, and food entrepreneurs transition from home production to commercial success. In partnership with Purdue University’s Food Entrepreneurship and Manufacturing Institute (FEMI) and Purdue Diversified Farming & Food Systems (DFFS), this series provides the essential tools needed to sell directly to consumers or break into wholesale and institutional markets.
The series kicks off with a free, in-person workshop on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the Meadow Springs Event Center in Francesville. This introductory session covers food industry fundamentals, product market-readiness, and the logistics of scaling operations.
Participants who complete the first workshop will gain eligibility for advanced virtual tracks, including:

FEMI Series 1 ($100): Focused on food manufacturing, market research, shelf-life performance, and commercial retail sales.

DFFS Series 2 ($100): Focused on small grower fundamentals, crop expansion, farm finances, and institutional distribution.
Attendees will receive high-value resources such as 1-on-1 growth consultations, business plan templates, and the Purdue Hort Calculator.
